To maximise the retail potential of the fast growing bike and
scooter markets and to reduce the seasonality of sales.

Approach:
Cross functional team assembled which reviewed global trends
against the existing customer base to identify new markets and
opportunities.

Results:

  • The review found that the majority of bike riders also pursue active
    sports, such as skiing and mountain biking. This highlighted a
    potential market of £700 million - equal to the total bike sector!
    The range review identified over £1,000,000 of potential
    increased sales per store.
  • The staff were identified as a critical element in the successful
    delivery of this concept. A profile and process to identify and
    reward the staff was developed.
